You know, I seem to have a much higher tolerance for bullshit than many people. I stayed with Cingular (AT&T) when I should've just left. And I stayed with Allstate for too many years.
Some highlights:
I thought I was done with Allstate. I left them 15 days before my policy expired and am due a refund of the unearned premium on the account. However, the agent's "helper" (or whatever she is) decided that I meant to just let my policy on the actual term date, not the date I specified. We'll see if they want to pursue this matter further... hopefully it's all cleared up now. Thank God I kept the fax proving when I submitted my request!
I seriously need to go to law school. Who's gonna sponsor me? ;-)

Until I watched this, I thought McCain was going to be the next president.
I thought today was going to be the day the fog rolled in for the winter - there was snow in the mountains this weekend and, this morning, talk of actually turning the underfloor heating. Not for me - I embrace a Opus Dei style monastic existence in which I prefer my bedroom to be freezing cold. I like having the covers stolen from me and prefer a bed mate with freezing cold feet.

Now, I have to confess that I actually wanted to do "Jane Says" instead but was mildly shocked to realise that it was first released in '87 on "Jane's Addiction", albeit in live form the first studio version was in '88s "Nothing's Shocking" but this loophole version was from '97's "Kettle Whistle"

]]>Did you read the nasty op-ed by William Kristol in today's NY Times? Why the editors gave that intellectual featherweight valuable space in the paper I'll never know. You have the news section talking about how the McCain campaign is getting ready to go into the gutter with nasty attacks on Obama. Then, you have the editorial board write an op-ed decrying the gutter politics of the McCain campaign... and then on the opposite page, you have Kristol jumping into the gutter with both feet - and not even with any subtlety. It really was a thing of beauty. He's asking Palin about whether she'll bring up Obama and Wright after she tells him about the supposed connection between Obama and Ayers. What a reach that is... Of course Kristol doesn't seem to be interested in asking her about her husband belonging to a party that is trying to have Alaska secede from the U.S. Rich!
