Lucky kitties

Tonight at Andronico's I purchased them some of the new high end Fancy Feast, which, were I in charge of the world, would be called "Fancier Feast" but since I'm not, is called "Elegant Medleys." How come the plural of medleys isn't medlies? Or medleies? Hmmm... I think I answered my own question.

As for the spelling, the suffix/pluralization rules are different if the 'y' is preceded by a consonant or a vowel. Why are the rules different? I don't know.

You should check out some of the smaller brand high-end cat foods. "Wellness" for example, its a few cents cheaper than Fancier Feast per can, and it doesn't contain "meat by-products" and doesn't contain ash. Check out the ingredient list of Fancier Feast Chicken Fare vs. Wellness Chicken. The only downside is that you won't find it in general grocery stores (not even nice ones like Andronicos). You have to go to the smaller pet stores, or order it online (I go to Pawtrero Pets in Potrero Hill which has a lot of great stuff).
