Sweet.... Veronica Mars season 3 confirmed
Despite its abysamally low ratings, Veronica Mars has been picked up a third season, by the new "CW" network, basically a merger of the Paramount and WB networks. Hopefully the CW will put some marketing muscle behind the show, since it really deserves to be bigger than it is. Maybe they could move it from competing with ABC juggernaut "Lost" for starters? And sell it on the ITMS for gosh sakes. There's just no excuse for the lack of V-mars on the ITMS-the show's demographic is exactly the kind of people who would (and do) buy TV shows there. I know I do. And there's some evidence that selling episodes of "The Office" has increased that show's ratings on NBC.

Right on. I have been worried about it's fate.
Though it does have very low ratings, Veronica Mars has several things going for it:
i) the people who do watch are in the highly desirable 18-25 demo, lots of disposable income (thx to baby boomer 'rents who did well in property) and spend more time on the internet and playing videogames than watching traditional network TV. This also helps V-mars do well with DVD sales.
ii) the show does have critical cachet, and believe it or not, networks do pay attention to that, especially when...
iii) Veronica Mars ace in the hole-it's really, reallyl cheap. Shot mostly on location near LA, it has only two regular actors, so they save lots. From what I've read, V-mars is one of the chepeast one-hour dramas on television. It's why it's survived while My So-Called Life, another critically acclaimed but low-rated show, didn't-because MSCL had very high production costs.
